Product Description

Often paired with a shield for maximum protection and damage, the axe was a popular tool used by Swedish warriors prior to the spread of Christianity in the 11th century. Axes allowed for close-range combat, though smaller versions such as this one, could be used as a throwing weapon in a pinch.

While Swedish warriors often travelled further east for pillaging, a direct distinction from their Southern counterparts, they also partook in some Western raids as well. This caused them to be one of the last countries to be taken over by Christian invaders.
