This axe is made from stainless steel and wood, with rune markings along the blade.
While many axes were often used in tandem with shortswords or shields, this two-handed axe was a weapon of mass destruction when in the hands of a strong enough warrior. Capable of splintering shields, tearing open armour, and splitting helmets, this axe was the famed weapon of vicious Viking warriors. Used as a chiefly offensive weapon, the axe allowed warriors to get up close and personal, closing the distance that swords provided.
