This blade is named after the Spanish hero Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar, who was given the nickname ‘El Cid Campeador’, meaning lord champion, after his many victories to reconquer Spain during the 11th century. It is told that El Cid never lost a battle, and his prowess as a leader and military strategist helped take back many of the kingdoms within Spain for his king Alphonse VI.
This sword has a stainless steel blade along with a nickel-plated handle.
