Robert de Brus

£ 265.00

Robert the Bruce, also known as Robert de Brus or Robert I, was King of Scotland from 1306 until his death in 1329. He is today considered a Scottish National Hero for his victories against the English in the First Scottish War of Independence. He was a extremely skilled warrior in his time.

It is unclear exactly what caused his death at age 54, but it is said he died having completed his life’s wish – recognition of the Bruce’s right to the crown. His body is buried at Dunfermline Abbey.

This sword was designed by skilled Edinburgh sword-maker John Barnett, who also handmade several of the swords in our range.
