This blade is a carbon steel replica designed by John Barnett as a part of his museum quality collection.
This sword is based off a standard 14/15th century knight’s longsword and was a very versatile weapon, allowing for longer-ranged fighting, while still having a thick pommel that could be used in close-ranged bludgeoning. These weapons were meant for heavy hitters, where arming swords were more common for finesse and speed.
